I am going to write a couple paragraphs about how the USA played today, in their World Cup match against Portugal--- or as the media would have it-- against that "uck Rinaldo.
Portugal scored first--- and looked all throughout the first half they had control of the ball--- which means possession of the ball--- which means doing everything to try to "burn" the clock so they can win they game. Second half starts--- USA fired back with a goal seemingly out of nowhere-- which miraculously put the USA tied with Portugal. Then-- about 1/2 hour later--- USA puts a cross goal feed to two of it's players--- last being Dempsey - who chest butts it into the goal in traffic fashion. Score is USA - 2, Portugal - 1. All USA needs to do is keep as much possession of the ball as possible and as said previously--- burn out the clock--- to win the game.
No--- USA just couldn't do the obvious--- which was to put a body in front of the advancing forward--- regardless of a possible foul-- in order to take the opposing player off their game-- and make them take desperate shots that more than likely will NOT result in a goal. No. USA sat there and watched as a world class football team meticulously set up their attack-- made the perfect cross field centering feed--- and kicked the ball into the goal as if they were practicing in their back yards in Portugal on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Without a care in the world--- Portugal scores a goal as if God himself had ordained it--- and rendered the USA players utterly retarded in the process. I was absolutely STUNNED to say the least. I couldn't believe my eyes as to what had just unfolded on the television. I walked away immediately as if in a coma.
USA and their coach Klinnsman are a great team--- and I am a USA fan through and through. I was absolutely thrilled to see them score two goals and go ahead of Portugal in a way that they should have as the football team they're capable of being-- aka: playing to their potential. But after seeing them just lie down and give up a key goal-- in the last seconds-- of a game they NEEDED to win? They do not deserve to advance to the second round-- in my opinion. It was such a disgusting display of complacent sportsmanship--- it will take a raping of Germany in the next game to redeem themselves from this display they've shown today.
Can you tell I'm pissed off? You know why?? CAUSE I'M REALLY FUCKING GODDAMN PISSED OFF, THAT"S WHY!!!!!!!!!! THAT WAS OUR GAME AND IT WAS JUST FUCKED OFF LIKE A FRIENDLY MATCH????!!!!!!???? OH MY FUCKING GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
